Position Description

The Food-Access Hub is looking for content specialists, writers, content creators who love storytelling. We are addressing complex societal issues, including hunger, homelessness, and other basic rights. Our audiences range from average citizens to elected officials, and from nonprofits to advocacy groups.

If you want to do meaningful and fulfilling work, utilizing every bit of creativity you possess, then this is the job for you. This position will give you the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of real people while you learn new skills, have fun and collaborate with many internal and external stakeholders.

Opportunities
  • Play an important role in helping the Food-Access Hub communicate critical information to the public, City Council members and a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Actively manage our Department’s social media channels on a day-to-day basis
  • Write content that will be used in infographics, brochures, presentations, social media posts and video script
  • Translate data and statistics about food access, homelessness and affordable housing into relatable content (e.g., case studies, testimonials, narratives).
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams that often include graphic designers, policy experts, media liaisons, and project managers
  • Assist in preparing presentations for audiences with differing levels of sophistication, knowledge and interest.
  • Create video content for use on the Food-Access Hub’s website and social media channel
